Have you ever wondered what's going to be the next big invention? We do too!  Who really knows which of todays ideas will fly high or nose dive? Very few ideas become instant hits...most take years...even decades to catch hold.  By the time a product has reached the market place many people are responsible for its success.  But, in the beginning, a few dreamers and doers turn possibility into a probability. Their focused dedication and commitment turn the impossible into possible. We salute those dreamers who become the doers and trail blazers.

One of the most famous American inventors -Thomas Edison said "I don't give a tinker's damn for any invention that has no practical commercial use."  But even Thomas Edison couldn’t accept the possibility that his young apprentice Nikola Telsa could improve upon his work in "direct current -DC systems" and "incandescent long-lasting commercial light bulbs".  So, Nikola quit and improved both by creating the "alternating current -AC system" and "fluorescent bulbs".  He was quickly hired by inventor George Westinghouse and together their AC Westinghouse System became the world standard. So, if Thomas Edison was a poor judge of his apprentices' ideas...who are we to judge? In the end...only time and the consumer will determine the winners from the losers.

“It’s rare that you’ve got a major breakthrough that wasn’t developed by multiple people at about the same time,” according to Mark Lemley, professor of intellectual property at Stanford Law School. In fact on, Feb. 14, 1876, both Alexander Graham Bell and Elisha Gray filed papers with the United States Patent Office to register their competing telephone technologies. Years earlier, the Italian immigrant Antonio Meucci devised his own version of the telephone, but ultimately couldn’t afford the patent application process to defend his innovation. History remembers Bell, while his rivals are footnotes known mostly by aficionados of intellectual-property trivia.

The invention of the first Jet Engine and Jet Fighter occurred around the same time as early as 1934 by three engineer inventors working separately in Italy, Germany and England. It took a decade before one country (Germany) had a combat ready jet fighter and almost two decades before they became the world standard. The three young inventors that changed the world were

all fresh out of engineering school and under age 27.

Steve Jobs, Michael Dell  and Bill Gates are living proof that ones passion, vision and commitment can lead to products that improve our world and create jobs. Incidently, all three are college drop-outs and were under age 25 at the start of their companies. These three were visionaries deticated to putting the power of the PC in the hands of the masses.
